Bacon Milkshake

In his book Thoroughly Modern Milkshakes, author Adam Ried dedicated an entire section to unconventional recipes, including the Maple-Bacon Shake. To try, just fry 2 slices of thinly cut bacon over medium heat until crisp. Remove bacon and let excess fat in the skillet cool. Then, along with 1 Tbsp of the cooled bacon fat, blend 2 Tbsp Grade B maple syrup, 6 Tbsp cold milk (whole or reduced-fat), 8 medium scoops of softened French vanilla ice cream and a pinch of salt. Garnish with bacon bits for more bacon flavor. Recipe yields 3½ cups.
